UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man
Achieving UNESCO Biosphere status reflects that the Isle of Man is a special place for people and nature.
The aims of the Biosphere Isle of Man are to:
- Protect our natural resources
- Develop our economy in a sustainable way
- Support and promote our cultural heritage
- Make our environmental impact positive
- Engage with the local community
- Promote our outstanding living landscape and seascape through active involvement with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man.’
Partners pledge to support the above aims.
The Management Board felt that Rowany GC could contribute to the aims set out above and accordingly applied to become a partner.
The application was successful, and Rowany became the first golf club on the Island to be awarded partner status.
And we are very proud to be associated with it.
