General
The majority of the major competitions at Rowany are open events, and visitors are very welcome to play in them. Generally only gents can win these competitions and the main prizes. However, the Club Policy is to also award a prize to the Best Lady and Best Junior, if the number of ladies and juniors who participate numbers 6 or more. Sponsors are, however, at liberty to vary the prizes awarded, and the format of the competitions.
The prizes are presented at Prize Presentation Evenings which are held on the last Wednesday of the month from April through September, and on the final Saturday of the Week of Golf at the end of July. The final Prize Presentation Evening of the year is held in December along with the Carol Evening.
The Club is lucky in that many of the competitions are sponsored, and the Club and its members very much appreciate the continued, and valuable, support given by the sponsors each year.
